The aim was a space that feels intuitive and welcoming from the moment you step outside — somewhere designed not just to be viewed, but to be used, gathered in and grown into over time.

Overview:
Client Story
The brief was shaped around a simple ambition — to create a contemporary outdoor space that felt calm, social and easy to live with, while still responding to the character of the existing tree and surrounding landscape.
Sweeping curves replace rigid lines, turning level changes into gentle transitions that guide you from terrace to lawn and into a circular timber deck beneath the canopy.
The result is a space that feels intuitive and welcoming from the moment you step outside — somewhere designed not just to be viewed, but to be used, gathered in and grown into over time.
“We wanted something modern… but still soft and liveable.”
Design Response: Curved geometry replaces rigid lines — sweeping steps, a circular deck and flowing planting beds soften the structure.
Warm timber, pale stone and layered planting balance clean design with a relaxed atmosphere.
“It feels modern without feeling cold, we've had so many compliments"

““Privacy matters — but we don’t want to feel boxed in.”.”
Design Response:
Horizontal timber screening and layered planting create enclosure while keeping light and openness. The garden feels sheltered yet still connected to the wider landscape.
“We honestly love it and its changed family life for the better ! — .”

Design Detail:

This project shows how contemporary design can remain grounded in a small space.
Strong curves guide movement. Materials add warmth. Planting softens structure over time.
Instead of imposing a style, the design builds around how the clients wanted to live — creating a garden that feels intentional, welcoming and already beginning to settle into its surroundings.
