A Designer’s Take on Corker: Materials You Can See, Feel, and Trust: Garden Design

I dropped into Corker today . Left buzzing.

Even as an experienced designer, I learned things. It’s that good !

Why it stood out for me

  • 15 mini show gardens you can walk through and compare—styles, edges, joints, planting, levels—the lot. (Corker Outdoor)

  • Side-by-side materials in real build conditions, not just in a brochure. You feel texture underfoot and see how colours shift in light. (Corker Outdoor)

  • Knowledgeable, welcoming staff. They answer specifics—sub-base depths, jointing options, fall rates—without the hard sell.

  • Designer-friendly setup. Grab a coffee and wander; it’s made for testing ideas in real time. (Corker Outdoor)

I honestly wish I’d had a place like this when I was learning.

You shortcut months of guesswork in a single visit.

Planning a visit?

  • Corker is near Paddock Wood, Kent. Easy to get to, easy to navigate on site. (Locaji)

  • They’re open to the public on weekdays and Saturdays—perfect for clients to join me for side-by-side comparisons. (Corker Outdoor)

Designer verdict

The mini show gardens are a treat. The facilities are top-tier. The staff couldn’t be more helpful.

Thoroughly recommended.

One last thought

  • How could a reclaimed + new blend add character and cut carbon on your project?

  • What would change in your garden if you could when it comes to materials now you've lived with them?

I’ll soon be meeting a client at Corker for a materials walk-through. I know we’ll make decisions fast—and confidently.
